RESUME Born in 1944 Dave Lucas grew up in Bellevue, Washington. Dave's mother was a nationally known author publishing several novels in the 1930's along with a number of short stories Just out of high school Dave became a professional musician. In 1963, Dave's band, "The Avengers", toured with several nationally known groups including Merile Rush and "The Rivingtons". Dave graduated from Central Washington State College in 1967 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. Dave's interest in art later led to a second degree, a Bachelor of Arts Degree, in art, in 1971 from Western Washington State University. Soon after graduating Dave opened his own art gallery, "Gallery West", in 1973, in the historic district of Bellingham known as "Old Fairhaven". Dave became interested in ceramics while in college and taught pottery for a number of years at Gallery West. Dave's long time love of photography led to the marketing of his images at Gallery West in Bellingham, WA as well as a number of other galleries.
